No removal of cuttings at Groene braak

Are you participating in the eco-activity Groene braak? Then you may mow or mulch the crop you 'cultivate', but you cannot remove it. Grazing and harvesting are also not allowed. You must leave the cuttings on the plot.

Groene braak: removal not allowed

For the eco-activity 'Groene braak', you are not allowed to graze or harvest the crop. However, it is allowed to mow or mulch the crop. The cuttings cannot be removed; they must remain on the plot.

RVO/NVWA Inspection

RVO/NVWA inspects plots with the eco-activity 'Groene braak' to see if the crop has been removed. If RVO/NVWA finds this on your plot, you do not meet the conditions of this eco-activity. RVO will then disapprove this eco-activity.

Herb-rich buffer strip: removal allowed

'Harvesting and/or grazing' is also not allowed for the eco-activities:

  • Herb-rich buffer strip along arable land or permanent crop.
  • Herb-rich buffer strip along grassland.

Mowing and removal are allowed

For a herb-rich buffer strip, you may mow or mulch the crop. It is also allowed to remove the cuttings. Removing the cuttings is seen as a form of management. The removed cuttings cannot be used as animal feed.
