Due diligence investigation: Acquisition: Land Transport

Land Transport has been providing transport services from Harkema for over 100 years. With 50 experienced employees and a modern fleet of more than 100 transport units, the company offers a wide range of services, including temperature-controlled logistics and transport for the construction industry. Over the course of a century, the company has earned a stellar reputation for reliability, service, and quality.

Market position booster

St vd Brink is further strengthening its market position through the acquisition of Land Transport. The acquisition creates opportunities for St vd Brink to broaden and optimise its service offering in construction transport and temperature-controlled logistics. The combined expertise and experience of both companies further reinforces St vd Brink’s market position, having once again claimed the 52nd spot in the Top 100 Logistics Service Providers 2024 ranking.

Growth strategy continued

The acquisition of Land Transport is a strategic move that fits well with St vd Brink’s growth strategy. “We firmly believe in the power of collaboration, and the integration of Land Transport along with the additional location in Harkema is a great addition to our operations. Together, we can serve our customers even better and seize new opportunities. This acquisition also strengthens our position in the north of the Netherlands, where we already have a presence through our company Bremer Transport,” says St vd Brink CEO Alex van den Brink.

A good pair of hands

Hennie Dijkstra, the owner of Land Transport, is delighted to be entrusting the company to a good pair of hands. “St vd Brink has an excellent reputation, as was confirmed by our long-time partner Bremer Transport. Once I decided the time was right to hand over Land Transport, St vd Brink was my first choice."

Dijkstra continues: "Land Transport deserves to be in good hands, which is why I reached out to Alex van den Brink. I’m very happy we came to an agreement, and that I’ll remain involved with Land Transport. I’ll continue to be jointly responsible for commercial activities and client relationships.”

Following the acquisition of Land Transport, and after the earlier acquisitions of Bremer Transport and Jan Hofman Transport, St vd Brink now employs over 800 people and operates around 450 company-owned tractor units.
