Sale: Bremer Transport to St vd Brink

Transport company St vd Brink has acquired the transport operations and employees of Burum-based Bremer Transport. The acquisition comprised 20 transport units and 24 employees, representing a further expansion of St vd Brink’s operations. Throughout the sale process, Bremer Transport was advised and supported by de Jong & Laan.

Sale: Bremer Transport

Bremer Transport comes from humble beginnings, starting off as a local freight service using horse and cart. Four generations later, Bremer has become a specialist in oversized transport of everything from sea containers, site cabins, and timber construction frames to crash barriers, construction cameras, and timber. With its crane trucks, Bremer Transport can unload and place freight directly at the required location, even up to a distance of 36 metres.

Common ground

St vd Brink is a family-owned company that has long believed in the motto “Moving forward together.” Once it became clear that Alwin Bremer was open to a possible sale, both parties quickly developed a clear roadmap. “At our first meeting, we agreed that the mutual feeling had to be right in order to proceed. It was clear from the beginning that we were a good fit, especially since both our companies are family businesses with rich histories."

"For me, St vd Brink was the ideal party to take over our company," Alwin Bremer concludes. The transaction guarantees continuity of employment, while preserving both the company name and its location, and Alwin Bremer will continue to be involved in the business.

Growth in the construction sector

This acquisition is perfectly aligned with St vd Brink’s strategic goal to grow its presence in the construction sector. “With the expansion of our Burum location, we’ve strengthened our national presence, putting us in a great position to provide zero-emission urban logistics services in major cities across the northern Netherlands,” says Alex van den Brink.
