History
De Jong & Laan Utrecht was formerly known as 5BAR Assurance, which was founded in 2012 by Kees-Jan Nielen and Gert van de Laar. Both men had first honed their skills at one of the Big Four accounting firms in the Netherlands and gained experience working in the complex environments of multinational and publicly listed companies. Driven by a growing belief in the power of entrepreneurship and a personal approach, Kees-Jan and Gert decided to start their own accounting firm. Today, they are part of de Jong & Laan.
