Sale: Macadam

Koninklijke Sjouke Dijkstra from Leek has acquired Macadam, based in Bakkeveen, strategically strengthening Koninklijke Sjouke Dijkstra’s market position and reinforcing its presence in the northern Netherlands. Throughout the sale process, Macadam was advised and supported by de Jong & Laan.

Sale: Macadam

Macadam is a specialised construction company known for its expertise in concrete and hydraulic engineering. The company is renowned for building pumping stations, movable bridges, and other hydraulic structures and primarily operates in the northern and central regions of the Netherlands. In the absence of any successors within the company, directors Folkert Pool and Sicco van der Mei have decided to step away from the business they built.

Koninklijke Sjouke Dijkstra

Koninklijke Sjouke Dijkstra delivers projects in earthworks, road construction, hydraulic engineering, and civil concrete construction. The company is active in infrastructure, environmental, and energy sectors, and is involved from design to execution and project management. The acquisition fits well with the strategic direction the company has taken in recent years, and the expertise and services of Macadam will further enhance the capabilities of Koninklijke Sjouke Dijkstra in the field of civil concrete construction.

Northern pride preserved

The departing shareholders are delighted with the acquisition by Koninklijke Sjouke Dijkstra, as it places Macadam in the hands of a regional SME from the north of the Netherlands.
