19 het atelier
19 het atelier, founded in 1994 by Rob Moritz and Erik van Scheijndel, is an architecture firm dedicated to sustainable and high-quality architecture, interiors, construction technology, and consultancy. The firm is active in various sectors and works on projects throughout the country for a diverse range of clients. The work field of 19 het atelier includes schools, care complexes, and housing, encompassing both new builds and renovations, with projects managed from the initial concept to detailed completion.
Sustainability, innovation, and social engagement form the core of their design approach. Within the organization, there is a strong emphasis on collaboration and personal development. Each design is centered around the value circle, with decisions weighed based on seven core values: aesthetics, social impact, history, ecology, sustainability, experience, and usage. This approach is also reflected in the firm's expertise, with a focus on nature-inclusive and climate-adaptive building, as well as circular and bio-based construction.
Management members acquire shareholding
In 2023, Marc Eijkelkamp and Sara van Popta joined the management team of 19 het atelier, alongside Rob Moritz and Erik van Scheijndel. In 2024, Rob Moritz stepped down as director but remains involved with the organization as an advisor.
To safeguard continuity, Marc and Sara have acquired a shareholding in the company. Under the leadership of Marc and Sara, together with Erik, 19 het atelier continues to establish itself as a leading firm within the architecture field. Innovation, sustainability, and social engagement remain central to their mission.
