Marshoek B.V. merges with de Jong & Laan
Vroomshoop/Utrecht, 29 March 2023
In response to the increasing demand from clients and professionals in the accountancy sector for a continuously expanding and deepening service offering, de Jong & Laan initiated an investment partnership with Waterland in 2022. With the integration of Marshoek, de Jong & Laan has now significantly broadened and deepened its capabilities.
Marco Lokhorst, Managing Director of de Jong & Laan: “In addition to its strong position in the retail market for administration and payroll processing, Marshoek is clearly a frontrunner in data-driven advice and consultancy. Tapping into their knowledge and experience will prove to be a powerful way to strengthen our IT expertise."
"While this partnership enables us to attract new clients and move towards nationwide presence, cultural alignment and quality were also key considerations. We remain committed to our core values: quality, a grounded and personal approach, and a forward-thinking culture. A good cultural fit is essential, and our rapport with Marshoek was evident from the start. Their no-nonsense culture and drive for innovation align perfectly with who we are,” says Marco Lokhorst.
Strong foundation for collaboration
Ton van Loon, Director/Owner of Marshoek, agrees: “At Marshoek, we put people, quality, and innovation first. Together with the entire Marshoek team, we’ve established ourselves as the leading financial specialist in the retail sector. We're eager to further expand this position through complementary expertise. At the same time, we recognise that a tight labour market limits our ability to achieve these ambitions independently.
We need the support of a larger organisation to realise our growth ambitions. By becoming part of de Jong & Laan, we're taking that next step. Their expertise in tax, audit, and subsidies expands and deepens our services, and the integration also gives us access to a broader office network and new clients. All in all, it offers a strong foundation for collaboration.”
A thoughtful integration
As market leader in the retail sector, Marshoek will continue to operate as an independent entity under its own brand name, now with the addition of “part of de Jong & Laan.” Ton van Loon will join de Jong & Laan as a partner and will remain responsible for Marshoek as its director. A transition programme will be developed to align services and processes, ensuring both parties can fully benefit from each other’s strengths.
